X / Earwitness (2018) is a film based around a ten-day field research trip to Greece during the spring of 2018, produced in collaboration with architectural historian and filmmaker Dr Anna Ulrikke Andersen.  Shot with a Black Magic Cinema Camera, the footage explores the sonic and spatial fragments of the Polytope de Mycenae (1978), an open-air multimedia installation by the composer and architect Iannis Xenakis.  Rooted in the sounds, spaces and landscapes of the original event, its creators and participants, the film addresses the concept and testimony of the ‘earwitness’ and how auditory memory is filtered, stripped and framed through the present-day; experienced as the movement between, and return to, particular places and spaces.
